Week 9 was the last of the really heavy bye weeks but there are still some fantasy relevant teams on bye in week 10 (BUF, DET, IND, OAK). Whether you have been streaming all year or just need some bye week fill-ins, here are your best bets to deliver in week 10.
Joe Flacco, BAL
From a fantasy perspective Flacco has been bad this year. The yards have been there (2087, 12th) but the TD’s have not (6, 28th) and that’s keeping him from being a top 12 scoring QB. Luckily he faces a terrible Cleveland defense at home that has surrendered at least 2 touchdowns to every QB they have faced not named Ryan Fitzpatrick. Vegas currently has the Ravens as 11 point favorites at home which just adds to his appeal. Flacco should have no problem finishing as a top 12 QB this week with top 7 upside.
Jay Cutler, CHI
Tampa Bay ranks as one of the worst pass defenses in the league and they were just torched by Matt Ryan for 344 yards and 4 touchdowns. Granted Cutler is not on the same level as 2016 Matt Ryan but he is a gunslinger who is capable of putting up big games against bad defenses. Coming off a 250 yard, 1 TD performance against one of the league’s best defenses Cutler should be able to improve on that against the Bucs.
Lance Kendricks, LA
Kendricks has quietly worked his way into a playable weekly tight end. In week 6 against the Lions he saw 8 targets for 34 yards and a TD. In week 7 against the Giants 9 targets for 7 receptions and 55 yards. Week 9 against the Panthers he saw 12 targets for 90 yards and a horrible drop in the end zone that broke many a streamers hearts. This week he gets the Jets who are in the bottom half of defenses against tight ends. Kendricks is now a big part of this offense and needs to be owned in more leagues then he is.
Will Tye, NYG
Fun fact: Tye played 72% of snaps against the Eagles in week 9 and Larry Donnell played 0. It seems obvious that Tye is now the Giants top tight end. He was only able to turn 7 targets into 33 yards in week 9, but the Eagles are one of the best defenses against tight ends. His week 10 opponent, Cincinnati, ranks in the bottom 5 against tight ends. If he sees 7+ targets again in week 10 he should have no problem putting up TE1 numbers.
Baltimore v CLE
Baltimore may not have a huge ceiling this week but they have a great floor. As mentioned above they are at home on a short week as 11 point favorites. They are a top defense against the run which means Cody Kessler should be throwing a lot. This means plenty of opportunities for sacks and turnovers. The Cleveland offense has looked adequate at times and they may put up some points, but the sacks and turnovers should make Baltimore a top 10 defense this week.
San Diego v MIA
Somehow still only owned in 39% of Yahoo leagues San Diego is becoming a viable weekly defense. Joey Bosa has been a huge addition to that defensive line and is off to one of the best starts by a rookie defensive lineman in history. Like Baltimore, San Diego is good against the run holding teams to just 3.8 YPC. Coming off a game were they held Demarco Murray to 51 yards, this defense should be able to slow down the Ajayi train. If they do Ryan Tannehill will be forced to throw and that is always a good thing for opposing defenses.
